Cerro Dominador Project

The Cerro Dominador project will provide 210 MW of clean generation for the Chilean electricity market by combining 100 MW of photovoltaic energy and 110 MW of solar concentrating power. This solar plant, with 17.5 hours of storage capacity, guarantees continuous production 24 hours per day, 365 days a year, being the first renewable energy plant that will produce base energy in the country.

Main milestones

May 2014

First stone of the solar thermal plant.

December 2014

The project secured the award of up to 950 GWh/year for 15 years, under the tender of the Ministry of Energy. Due to its characteristics, the project was able to compete in different time blocks.
